7 May: GreenEcoNet Annual Conference announced. The Conference will take place on 25 June at CEPS, Place du Congres 1, 1000 Brussels, and will present and discuss the network’s priority topics for the year to come.
Two topics have been selected on the basis of the upcoming political agenda and interviews with key stakeholders. The first topic deals with governance and policies in support of ‘green entrepreneurs’. This topic will be taken forward in a dedicated session, dealing with questions related to how can policies help ‘green’ entrepreneurs by improving access to information, financing and technical assistance.
The second topic deals with the circular economy, focusing on waste aspects. The discussions during the second dedicated session will cover issues such as what action and information SMEs might require to realise business opportunities related to the circular economy, as well as how SMEs can improve their cooperation and knowledge sharing to fully exploit the potential of the circular economy.
Following the Annual Conference, the project consortium will launch the GreenEcoNet platform. The Platform Launch Event will include a visual presentation of the platform and its suite of instruments aimed at creating a dynamic environment for exchanging best practice ideas and stimulating the green economy debate. The presentation of the platform will be followed by a discussion on best practice SME initiatives. In particular, a number of SMEs will present their innovative green business solutions which enabled them to reduce costs while boosting their revenues.
The Annual Conference starts at 09:30 with registration & coffee
Networking lunch from 13:00-14:00, followed by the Platform Launch Event which starts at 14:00.
